Back!!! Still packed as usual down to the last minute before closing. A lot of the customers were tourists. Overall - love this place! Overheard a karen couple complaining about something- and the wait staff had to bring one of their dishes back to the kitchen. I knew they were trouble when they loudly called out "hola" to another staff member. Their dishes were remade but seemed like they still have something to say when the bill came. Their tone was a bit uncivilized and you can see they were trying to take advantage. This is an example of how there will be times when customers are not being fair. Yelp allows the customers to voice their feedback which is great so that the onus gives business owners to provide service. But it is always one-side, just like this karen situation. Business owners have a lot at stake more than the customers since they just come and go. A typical restaurant carries the weight and burden of an entire operation. Luckily Flippers seem to be doing well and there are plenty who make a lot of money, and yes there are those who can afford to please customers especially if they need to make things right. BUT being patrons who want to get away from the bill is not right. When flippers comped my bill the last time due to a mishap, I used that $ toward the tips. Please be fair in your judgment. Telling the restaurant something is wrong with your dish is fine since improvements are always in the works- but trying to be a scammer is totally wrong. Then sometimes people yelp about it so that the owner would read it- to offer them a free pass for the next time. The reason why it is worse, is because the point of the owner offering something is so that you take off your bad review - and then they never remove it. That explains why we see the back and forth and original review and 1 star. Too many games!! Back to flippers - sentiments still holds true as being an amazing spot. Price point is average but this is more of a niche/specialty restaurant. It is great! Price point is average because if you check out the restaurant menu/prices diagonally across this place, you will see why.

I would only come back for the lemon ricotta pancake! The soufflé pancakes were so cute and aesthetic but other than that, I love a buttermilk pancake. Everyone else got the soufflé pancake but they loved the lemon ricotta one better! Service was great and fast. I feel like the soufflé pancakes were more of a dessert. I would recommend you to get one soufflé pancake and one lemon ricotta if you came here.

Food was good here however booking process and actually checkin process was a bit of overkill

I loved their food My brother took me for brunch The food was believed pretty quickly We sat outside.

Flippers - Upstairs for service! Very very good food! The playlist of music is fabulous! It's like they are playing one of my playlists!

Sunday brunch ~ Assuming you move past the no-reservation but waitlist experience.. Flippers is situated in one of the hotspots of SOHO. Easy to meet, combine w other activities and overall very convenient location. The place offers outdoor seating mostly for 2 but for a couple more at the front of the store. Inside on the first floor is pretty busy looking and tbh I'm not sure if the area is for actual customers. I wish it is not lol. Onto the 2nd floor: AMAZING SPACE. Big, well lit, not so much smelly, beautiful soho views everywhere you look and lots of space for larger and smaller groups. The service was seamless and discreet. We overstated and didn't say a word. The only issue was that they serve whatever is made first. The food was very satisfying. The pancakes were good (maybe not Tops Diner good but still taste on point). Eggs and lox great. The side of fries although very small - had a unique flavor and crunch which almost felt like they use truffle oil to top them off. Give me these fries anytime after a long night . Rightfully their popular dishes are indeed a hit. We will come back for both the ambience and the food. It's not 5 stars for both because they can both get a slight improvement but as a combo it becomes a 5 star experience. Also in that area these prices are very reasonable. Portions are on the generous side for Nyc Standards. There is also 18% tipping still so you get the point. 2 things I would happily see improve: Offer decaf coffees and espresso (damn that was bad) The bathroom needs to catch up with the rest of the ambience of the restaurant. It was a huge disappointment to say the least. You can add your name to their waiting list as soon as 10am.

We waited about 30 minutes at primetime Sunday lunch - it's not too bad since there's bench right outside the door and the corner is great for people watching. Matcha soufflé pancake ($19) - as warm and fluffy as I had hoped. Matcha cream was nice on top, though it was pretty light on the matcha flavor. Whipped cream was super light and tasty though, and not at all sweet which is great. Red bean paste adds a bit of body to the dish. Real maple syrup was nice as well. Comes with three pancakes. Liked the fries with the burger as well. The mayo had a hint of truffle. Matcha pancake came out almost immediately. But the other dishes took a while longer.
